Things may get funky

Some web artists unwillingly turned their activity levels to Twitter-exclusives, while they have Newgrounds, DeviantArt, Instagram, FurAffinity, Pillowfort, Telegram, etc. These artists can fail if not treated properly.

On a Friday night...

Interesting times indeed there. I hope Elon manages to get through the chaos though, would be nice if it could really become a platform that embraces free speech with the same base of activity as it had before, so much potential...

@Cyberdevil i dont think its gonna turn into a free speech heaven as some wanted to 'see.', knowing who Elon is (he is a republican, eugh). Elongated Muskrat fired people that goes against him (in SpaceX), or turning his company workplace like an emerald mine (like where his heir came from). *cough* Tesla factories outside Europe *cough* He will be that unredeemable man-child who plays with people's lives because he can (and has money) and now he's repeating the same thing in Twitter, a 'commonly popular microblogging site' which is where livelihood of many and a lot of artists and content creators are built.

@VortexSupernova the idea of democrats vs republicans seems like a polarizing concept though, putting people on sides and pitting them against each other. Better a political system with a breadth of ideas and ideologies IMO, where the ideas are worth more than a certain alignment. I didn't know Elon was a republican - I'm not sure exactly what that means honestly - but he is a visionary, and free speech has been stifled a LOT on mainstream platforms recently, so I'd like to believe he has good intentions with this... even if he's handled it pretty badly so far...

As for those other misdemeanors it seems I need to read up... wasn't aware of them... he probably has been surrounded ny syncopaths a long time though. Might skew with his sense of what's right and wrong...

As for Twitter though, it's kicked out many a controversial artist before his takeover too, hence the earlier migration of Twitter artists here. That's one of the things I hope he can change. Real freedom of expression again.

Since he is the owner now regardless hopefully things fall into place; he reaches som enlightenment in regard to the staffing situation; how to treat all OG employees...

@Cyberdevil His visions were seemingly good but were damn masked on. :/ honestly I didnt knew a billionaire will be *this* worse. Him firing employees and giving them crunch while wanting "free speech" is a flag. I agree that his upbringing wasn't good. Well... not really surprising coming from someone who had questionable origins.

Gotta hope that he becomes better but that cannot happen over night...

rest in piss twitter, rip bozo

@VortexSupernova I'll give him the benefit of the doubt though still... I think people are a bit too quick to flee the platform right now; that maybe it won't turn out as bad as it seems. He's used to working hard himself, and I get the impression his intentions with restructuring the workforce might not be bad either, maybe he sees that a large part of the cancel culture Twitter has had lies with employee culture at the company, and that a large restructuring is needed to really keep on board only those who are as passionate about free speech as he is; so they can really start working with that vision in mind.

Then again I get the impression he's used to building companies from the ground up, and having a tough work ethic from the start, where everybody grows together, whereas immediately trying to change an existing one is just going to estrange people. I feel like he's going about this the wrong way regardless of his intentions, but I hope people give it a chance anyway; that he learns from his mistakes too; I hope it works out...

Yeah it's a tough phase for sure, feels like either they'll survive and get better, or not be around much longer at all. Decisive phase...

The thing I like the least is really the Twitter Blue thing. Doesn't feel right to commercialize the platform right away. Not that you need to be verified to be a member, but it feels like the essence of having a hierarchy where you can pay to be distinguished in some way really goes against the fundamentals of 'freedom' too...

But I will really read up more on his history sometime. I probably do have a biased view of who he is, good to know there's a side I don't really know here.

@Cyberdevil Yeah, theres really the sinister side of him hmm... Just like every billionaire right now. Bill Gates was good and had a philantrophic organization but was soon divorced to his wife after knowing he has ties to Epstein. *shivers*

Musk could rebuild the company *in a good way* unfortunately yes he isnt doing it the right way. Another unfortunatley, he reinstated the accounts of Kanye West who had anti-semitic views, as well as Donald Trump who we all know convinced people to fuel insurrection. Today I just learned he fired Twitter employees in Europe, but compared to Europe, workers there have more protection so he was like firing them in a 'not so legal' way to the point they are still technically employed :p At this point he doesn't seem really going well with the company and each day employees surviving the company is walking on egg shells.

Twitter Blue was hilarious. Elon revoked it after he learned that the badges are there for verification purposes of public figures and company to prevent impersonation, not as means as a "status" member with privileges like NG Supporter badge. Definitely a meme goldmine, at the same time, a history lesson on the dark secrets behind Chiquita buying an entire country, dystopian insulin prices in the U.S., and Lockheed Martin, known for its arms and aircraft contribution in the US military.

@VortexSupernova his plans for cybernetic implants and a global satellite grid that allows us to constantly stay connected kinda fits the mad mastermind mindset too. :) Though just earlier he was warning the world about how dangerous AI was, seems almost like he just gave up and considers it inevitable that machines take over... well, at least he was no such contacts like Epstein right, that we're aware of...? I've never really liked Bill Gates, as far as I can remember, he just hasn't seemed like a genuine person... but it seems he managed to put on a good facade earlier on. These days it doesn't seem like he cares. I rarely hear a good thing about him. But maybe he too was a good person at one point, and absolute power just corrupts absolutely, as they say.

Yeaah regarding Kanye and Trump I'm actually not against their being reinstated at all. I don't agree with their views, don't get me wrong, but I feel like problems just grow if you try to hide them. If there's no open debate or communication then everyone can retreat to their own personal echo chamber, and we get even more social polarization; all the more aggressive groups of supporters that feel the system cheats them. We really ought open up more. I'm for everyone being allowed on Twitter. If certain posts are moderated that's fine, hate speech isn't okay, personal attacks aren't okay, but even uncomfortable topics need to be open for them to get any real closure. It seems like the growing censorship these days is just growing hate; creating outcasts; pushing people against each other. So anyway TLDR I don't think reinstating accounts as such as a bad move. The employer situation though I agree seems wrong. He's moving too fast. I can't imagine he really knows who's a valuable employee or not at this point, and either way there needs be some leeway... drastic measures just further drive people off the site.

It seems like Trump at least is focusing on his own social media platform though so we already have some of those groups at this point; a fractioned debate that's bound to cause all the more aggressive oppositions...

Oh he didn't even know that! Man. I thought it was more so a desperate move to get funds... wait is he involved with all those things? Insulin prices? Chiquita buying an entire country? So much I do not know about...
